Tales of the Mimetic Badarses - Data Mine

Title: Tales of the Mimetic Badarses - Data Mine
Series: Battletech/Mechwarrior
Originally Published: May 2013, Classic Battletech Forums

Following on from Deviants, the next part of the Mimetic Badarses series continues the investigation into the secrets hidden behind the main storyline and those involved. Following on from leads they picked up in prior chapters, our alleged heroes go searching for the truth behind what's been going on since day one. And along the way, there's the inevitable giant robot violence.

Hmm, I seem to have run out of things to say. Huh.

Trivia:

The Arc Words persist. Enjoy!

This chapter was another early one in conception that just took forever to bring to play due to its place in the overall storyline. Some parts of it came about very early, others took forever to bring to fruition.

The makeup of Levisha's team varied several times during planning, with Levisha herself being the only fixed member. While Elezha was fixed in there, adding Jake came and went at different stages. Similarly, Jake's role was going to be filled by either him or Lynne Street James or, again, possibly both.

Also, if you've ever wondered why Levisha calls him "Reginald Aftermath" now you know.

The cars used in the escape, being very large, heavy and fast, were inspired by the current generation Bentley Continental series.

The custom Paladin used in the fic was referred to as both the "Lawnmower" and "Fat Boy" during writing, the latter being a part of a convoluted in-joke. If you ever ran the "Culling of Stratholme" dungeon during Wrath of the Lich King, you might have been a victim of it.

Likewise, both the Magi and Lane's Firestarter Omni were using custom configurations that I might get round to publishing.

There's also a reference in there to something (minor) in the Grand Theft Agro series. See if you can find it.
