Tales of the Mimetic Badarses - Run from Paradise

Title: Tales of the Mimetic Badarses - Run from Paradise
Series: Battletech/Mechwarrior

Run From Paradise represents a major turning point in the Mimetic Badarses series, both from a writing perspective and an in-world one. From the latter, there's a definite shift to being on the offensive, fighting back and turning the conflict around to being on our heroes' terms for once. From a writing perspective, it's a major story arc change, moving in a new direction with an expanded and new supporting cast.

...naturally, this means there are a lot of character introductions, because it's me and it's what I do. Fortunately, the bulk of this chapter is action, something that has been in short supply of late, especially of the BattleMech variety. Plus some really lovely scenery and a massive technological construct who's fate may yet surprise you.

Trivia

Sooooo many Arc words

The mercenary units from the Alliance are, for the most part, based on horrible units I created when in high school and thus though were cool at the time. At least they give me fodder for fics like this.

On the other hand, Magyari's Irregulars were created for an old RP campaign, but worked out well as a part of the story. Ironically, I had allways planned to use them in Mimetic Badarses long before their 3145 revival. There's even a conspicuous gap in their history for the fic to work around.

Finally, the Omegas were actually a fan donation. Thanks!

I spent endless hours fretting about the colour scheme of the Black Skull Legion, which as you can see, was totally worth it for their on-screen presence.

Mizar, and Port Malibu in specific have appeared in another fic. This may not be a coincidence.

Wrylokk's death came at a stage when I was stuck with the fic. In retrospect, I think it allows me to do more then keeping him alive ever would.
